How to Get Started with In-Home ABA Therapy

Getting your child started with ABA therapy can feel overwhelming. We're here to guide you through every step, from diagnosis to your first session at home.

Our Process & Guarantee

Starting therapy is a big step, and we want you to feel confident from the beginning. We only schedule an assessment once we've confirmed we can provide the services your child needs. No surprises, no dead ends—just a clear path forward.

Step 1. Autism Diagnosis

ABA therapy requires a formal autism diagnosis from a developmental pediatrician, neuropsychologist, or licensed psychologist. If you don't have one yet, your pediatrician can refer you to a specialist. We can also help point you in the right direction.

Step 2. ABA Referral

Your pediatrician, diagnostician, or school can send a referral directly to us. You can also self-refer by reaching out through phone, email, or our online form. We'll gather basic information about your child, your insurance, and your goals to get started.

Step 3. Insurance Verification

Your pediatrician, diagnostician, or school can send a referral directly to us. You can also self-refer by reaching out through phone, email, or our online form. We'll gather basic information about your child, your insurance, and your goals to get started.

Step 4. Availability Check

We confirm therapist availability in your area and ensure we can meet your family's scheduling needs before moving to the next step.

Step 5. Complete Intake & Pre-Assessment Forms

We'll send you a packet including consent forms, family history, and a pre-assessment questionnaire. This helps us understand your child's strengths, challenges, and your priorities before we visit your home.

Step 6. BCBA Assessment

A Board Certified Behavior Analyst visits your home to meet your child, observe their skills, and identify goals. Because you've already completed the pre-assessment form, we can make the most of our time together. This typically takes 2–4 hours.

Step 7. Individualized Treatment Plan

Your BCBA creates a customized plan with specific goals, recommended therapy hours, and parent training—all tailored to your child.

Step 8. Insurance Authorization

We submit your treatment plan for approval and handle all follow-up with your insurance company. We keep you updated throughout.

Step 9. Meet Your Therapy Team

Once approved, we match your child with a trained therapist based on personality, location, and schedule. We coordinate session times that work for your family.

Step 10. Review Assessment & Treatment Plan

Before therapy begins, we walk you through the assessment results and treatment plan. This is your opportunity to ask questions, discuss goals, and make sure we're fully aligned on the path forward.

Step 11. First Session & Ongoing Therapy

Therapy begins in your home. Sessions focus on building independence, autonomy, and meaningful skills, guided by your child's interests and momentum. Your BCBA provides ongoing supervision and parent training to support progress outside of sessions.
